The Foundation was originally endowed by William Lush in 1718 to help provide education for the children of Shaftesbury in Dorset. The Foundation is a registered charity (no. 306216) and is managed by the Trustees who are also Governors of Shaftesbury School.
The Foundation manages the endowment and disburses the income of the Trust as grant funding for projects relating to Shaftesbury School. Staff, current and former Students of Shaftesbury School(s) are all eligible to apply for grant funding from the Foundation.
To apply for funding you must register and use the online application form to apply for a grant and manage your grant approval/payment process. All applications are discussed and approved at meetings of the Trustees, which are held once or twice a term during the school year.
